Roebling boasts a unique and special history. The village originally housed steel mill workers and, eventually, their descendants. Many of the earliest residents came from Eastern Europe and brought their culture, heritage, work ethic, and sense of family and community with them. Change and struggle came with World War II, and after several different owners the mill unfortunately closed. The spirit of this town never perished, however. The founder, Charles G. Roebling, could not have known that over 100 years later the village he founded would be a thriving and vibrant community.
