Native Americans of the Southwest

When the Paleo-Indians entered what is now the American southwest over ten thousand years ago, they encountered a harsh and inhospitable land. Nevertheless, it was a place of great beauty. Despite the hardships imposed by climate and terrain, many tribes evolved from these first people, and many of their descendants still inhabit these lands.
