Writing Matters 1

Writing Matters provides a carefully structured series of activities that promote correct formation, legibility and speed in writing NSW Foundation Style. In this series, handwriting becomes meaningful and engaging through activities based on children’s literature, values education and COGs topics.

Focus of Book 1:

Upper- and lower-case letter formation and height
Numeral formation
Number words
English focus: children’s literature, poetry, narratives and procedures
Values focus: Care and compassion; Fair go; Doing your best
COGs focus: Local places, Our families, Our stories
Computer skills: use of specific keys such as the shift key
