Across the bridge from San Francisco, Esther lives in Berkeley - sometimes referred to as Berzerkely - the off-beat college town occupied by vegetarians, smoothie stands and VW buses. Amidst daily rituals of school and adolescence, Esther makes up innocent spells, feels she has psychic visions, and sings under the full moon. Life is going as normally as could be expected, until some of Esther’s friends believe themselves to be vampires and she finds herself growing up all too fast…
