Guardians of the Avenue 2: Biographies of African-American Legends of the Indianapolis Police Department

This is the completion of author Patrick Pearsey’s two volume history of African-American police officers serving on the Indianapolis Police Department. Thoughly documented, it consists of biographies of 150 officers from the past. The author also conducted interviews with the oldest living male and female officers who served this department - with some eye opening revelations. There are well over 100 photographs in the book, some dating to the 1880’s. This history documents a part of police history not well known in Indianapolis.
