Udder Confusion: The Case of Choreographed Cows and Alien Abductions

Private Investigator Marianna Morgan is up a tree in the dark (literally) overlooking William Bubba Taylor Sutton Livasee’s cows, waiting for a mysterious light to show up. Rumor has it there have been UFO sightings in the area. It’s not a rumor that each time the light shows up over Bubba’s ranch, one of his cows ends up dead-and headless. It’s the strangest case the motorcycle-riding, cat-loving, PI has ever taken. She’s sure Bubba is over-reacting-and the actual cause much more mundane-until she sees the light for herself and witnesses how the cows react to it. The bovine herd’s fancy footwork and unison mooing have Marianna scratching her head and researching past alien abductions and cattle mutilations. Alien experiments? Cattle rustlers? Hippie neighbors hiding secrets? Government conspiracies? And to complicate matters, Marianna also has to figure out why she’s suddenly started blacking out when the light shows up. Is her life in danger, too? What happens during her missing hours? How is it related to the cow deaths? Marianna races against the clock to solve the case before Bubba loses all of his cows-or she loses her life.
