The Secret

As he brought the cigarette to his lips again, he flashed a deadly smile of amusement and hunger. Almost as if challenging the storm to do it’s worst, knowing all too well that it did not hold the power to destroy him. He slid his long tongue across the point of one pearl dagger and felt his hunger grow as it sliced through his flesh and blood spread across his tongue. Soon he would sate his needs and claim her as his own, keep her until she was of no use to him anymore. After all, as far as he was concerned, she already belonged to him, she just did not know it yet. A toothy smile crawled across his features, his sharp deadly canines glimmering in the night.There she appeared in the window, only partially aware of the voyeur hiding in the line of pine trees that bordered her front yard. How long had he been coming here? Some part of him began to wonder if she was aware of his presence. If so, did she enjoy teasing him? Did she take pleasure in tempting the beast? It was all a game to him; finding them, stalking them and then taking what he wanted…
