Anatomy of a Gold Mine is the true story of a 1920’s style gold rush involving the expenditure of large sums of money by a New York financier with ensuing lawsuits, fights and squabbles between the Mine Manager and the financier during their quest for millions in gold. A world famous Geologist and a future Governor of Virginia lend their services to the cause. The story is accompanied by previously unpublished photographs detailing the step by step construction of the mine itself-showing how men accomplished difficult tasks without the advantages of modern construction equipment. The Twin Vein Mine buildings and equipment were almost identical to those found in in the Western United States. Correspondence detailing many of the mine’s day to day challenges beginning in 1921 and continuing until late 1925 is included.
