American Sanyasi: A Journey in Poetry

Gregg Valenzuela is a physician and poet living and working in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His interest in Truth-seeking was instilled by his parents and has continued through a life of reading, meditating, and seeking the friendship and guidance of persons able to assist in this quest. A universal experience is personalized in this collection of poetry told in modern terms in the setting of American culture. He acknowledges a tremendous debt of gratitude to all of his teachers, historical and contemporary, and hopes that this collection does not betray their efforts. This search has opened the door for personal observations, some of which may resonate with the reader. He sees this as an extension of his first two books Poems from the Northern Neck and From Sweet to Sweetness, Not a Kid’s Book of Love Poems, both of which describe the same journey but without the same obvious intent.
