Inspired by an award-winning web series, ‘Monster’ is the first novella in a four-part historical murder mystery that follows a mythic Italian serial killer, Il Sonnambulo, from Venice in the Spring of 1888 to the streets of London during the fateful Autumn of the Ripper Murders. Although fictional, the two central novellas in ‘The Crimes of Il Sonnambulo’ series, ‘Ripper’ and ‘Demon’, raise new questions and possible solutions to those dreadful events in Whitechapel. The series ends with ‘Antichrist’, set in fin de siecle Paris, five years after the Ripper’s murderous rampage. ‘The Crimes of Il Sonnambulo’ tetralogy concludes with an intriguing suggestion as to who Jack the Ripper was, and what became of him.
