The Salzburg Escape

Orphaned and alone, Jonathan joins his uncle, Jared Reed in German-occupied Austria during World War II. As a war correspondent, Jared has many contacts, including some that prove to be dangerous. When Jared is severely beaten during questioning by the Nazis, Jonathan becomes the only person available to take on an assignment from the Austrian Underground. Can the young American boy, unfamiliar with the language, and also the terrain of the mountains, manage to distract the soldiers who man the outposts long enough to smuggle refugees past and allow them to make contact with the freedom fighters living in the high regions of the Alps? Can he do his part in the fight for freedom from the Nazi reign of terror without sacrificing his uncles’ life?
