Lela and Her Magic Bank of Dreams

Lela is a girl with BIG dreams. She dreams of far away lands, of oceans, and of stars. One day, a genie appears and gives Lela a magic dream bank. The genie tells Lela that if she puts every dollar she gets in her magic dream bank, one day all of her dreams will come true. Lela keeps dreaming and Lela starts saving. One day, Lela sees the shiniest pair of shoes she’s ever seen. When she goes to get the money from her magic dream bank, Lela sees all of her dreams in front of her. She decides that her dreams are way better than the shoes and doesn’t buy them. Lela keeps dreaming and Lela keeps saving. After receiving money for helping her grandfather paint, Lela stuffs her earnings in her magic dream bank. The bank explodes! Lela finds herself in far away lands, in oceans, and close to the stars. Lela saved so much that all of her dreams come true!! Lela and Her Magic Bank of Dreams is a children’s book promoting saving, traveling, and dreaming. All of Lela’s dreams are real places in the world ranging from Machu Picchu in Peru to the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. The goal of this book is to expose its readers to the vastness of the world, remind them that their reach should extend further than their grasp, and encourage sacrificing immediate joys for something greater…..dreams.
