George in London
Tim Queeney
The story of a young man, not yet out of his teens, who sets off on a trip across the ocean to London in 1751. His aim is simple: to make his fortune. To transform himself from a tradesman surveyor, a younger son of a middling Virginia tobacco planter to a titled, monied success in the sprawling capital of the mother country. His only allies in this quest are an African-American sailor and a fashion-obsessed German Baron. It’s a tale of a young man on the make in the mighty mid-18th century city of London. George and sailor friend Darius try to live by their wits, but unfortunately they make mistakes, misread situations and have an outrageous time in a wild comedy where nothing is quite what it seems.
