In Characters Like Me- Not Your Friend Anymore, the first book of Devin And Monique, we meet eight year old best friends Devin and Monique. The story begins with Devin invites Monique over to her house for a playdate. The girls decide to build a Castle out of Devin’s new block set. But while playing with the blocks, Devin takes a block from Monique’s castle gate without asking. Instead of giving the block back, Devin makes excuses to why she needs it more. To make matters worse, Devin is insensitive to Monique’s feelings when Monique begins to cry. This causes Monique to get upset and end the friendship. Will this duo ever become friends again?
