What drives you? Everyone has that thing… that fuel that propels them toward some things and away from others. It defines what is valuable. Generally it’s subtle enough that only the outcomes are apparent. It’s often tough to identify a fuel without opening up the tank and taking a big sniff. The funny thing about fuel is that its nature is to propel, but its method is to consume. The wrong fuel ruins an engine. Have you ever put gas in a diesel engine? It doesn’t turn out well. It might fire for a little while, but, ultimately, things break down. Colossians 3 cracks open the tank of spiritual identity and reveals the fuel system for which believers are designed. From its source to its target, your new fuel system gets a complete retrofit when you are in Christ. Imagine swapping a sub-compact car’s gas engine for a NASA rocket system. It’s kind of like that, but better. Just don’t feed the old junk into the new system.
