The Young Molly Maguires: Young Passages in the Days of the Robber Barons

A story of youth in the time of the Molly Maguires and the 1870s ferocious labor struggles in coal mining. The Mollies were a secret society of immigrant Irish mine workers who struck back at the railroad ‘robber barons, ’ owners of the coal mines, and their brutal labor practices. It is the story of the lives of a few boys and a girl, sons and a daughter of Molly families, bonded together in loyalty and love. They embrace difficult coming-of-age challenges, while also struggling against steep odds to help their families avert a tragedy closing in on them.
