Jessica Knight, exhausted from late-night studying, falls asleep in class and dreams about a mysterious woman who is trying to kill her. Twins Morgan and Kevin Smith investigate the story of Graystorm Asylum and uncover more than they bargained for. And three friends, Corey Jefferson, Cassidee Scott, and Kyle Hill, are all being visited by their own demons. When these six kids all end up in the Empire, a magical world hidden within their own, they find out that they are the Destined Ones, prophesized by Queen Sarissa’s sister to save the Empire from destruction. Divided into groups, Corey, Morgan, and Kevin travel to Graystorm Asylum to shut down a passageway leading into the Empire while Jessica, Cassidee, and Kyle go south and encounter a diabolical circus.
