FOR BEST AND WORST: Contemporary Romance Novel.
Marie portrays childhood years, teenage years, college years, and life as an adult like no other.
Kristie Tidwell and Eric Channing attend a high school reunion decades after graduation. For Kristie, finally going back was a tough decision. Immediately upon graduation, Kristie left Wentworth, Alabama to attend college, vowing never to return except to visit her Mom and Dad. Eric, on the other hand, had spent most of his life in Wentworth where his friends were the same friends he had in high school. Kristie and Eric began a relationship, however, difficulties arose. Eric’s best friend, Wiley Martin, had tormented Kristie about her weight when they were children and she refused to be civil to him. Wiley wasn’t thrilled that Eric was marrying Kristie either. Besides Wiley, a number of Eric’s other friends refused to accept Kristie. She is horrified when Eric reveals to her that Wiley Martin, Jake Stanley, and Johnny Morton, the bad-boy trio of their class, were planning to kidnap her, tie her up, and force her to drink straight whiskey. Then they were going to throw her into some snaky woods by a local creek. All of this was because a much slimmed down Kristie had placed higher in the school beauty pageant than their girlfriends. By the time people have reached adulthood, most have changed for the better (thank goodness). But are all prejudices and pre-conceived notions washed away? Can two people who hung out in different crowds come together and have a loving relationship? In the story, there are many twists and turns and there is much laughter and tears. A sequel, Sunsets of Fire and Ice will be available in 2016.
