Franciscan high school

Can you imagine moving to a foreign country after middle school not knowing the language and having to go to school there? Can you imagine how hard it would be to have to adjust to the culture shock you would go through? The author of this book went through the experience of moving to Hungary as a teenager, not knowing what to expect, in order to go to a Franciscan religious high school. Instead of finding peace, harmony, love, and acceptance, he and his twin brother were confronted by hatred, envy, racism and intolerance from members of the Catholic Church. This book lays bear the ugly, sinful nature of human beings. We would do well to heed the words of the Bible: And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 19:33-34)
