It is now the middle of the first Century before the Common Era. The declining Maccabee dynasty is fighting for its survival against the rising power of Rome. The Watchers and their allies wish to use this conflict to prevent the coming of the Messiah. To do so, they must eliminate the mystic communities in Palestine who are preparing for his arrival.
