Is It Possible to Know We are Saved?

Some people have deep inner peace in their relationship with God. Others seem continually plagued by confusion and doubts. John tells in John 5:13 These things have I written unto you…that ye may know that ye have eternal life. God wants us to be free from the fear of losing our salvation. Thoughts of the second coming are disturbing, but the good news is we do not have to go through life in fear. However, the Bible does not teach blind assurance. Sadly, some people are deceived and have false hope (Matt, 7:21-23). The truth is, we can be sure about where we will spend eternity, but how? God provides us with direction, He has not left us alone in this world to figure it out on our own. He gives us His Son and His Word as the example and the directives we need to live free of fear.
