Hope always wondered what true abnormality is - whether questioning her actuality and self is representative of the general population’s train of thought. If her absence of friends, fashion, and health means anything other than the social pariah label on her head in high school, then she is as normal as can be. She wonders if the idea of working cyclic schedules after graduation is supposed to be demonstrative of a favorable, fulfilling existence. When she meets transfer student Videl, dealing with her abusive stepfather doesn’t seem all that insurmountable anymore. But with the French philanderer comes a chain of events that quickly spiral out of control. Tingles at every feathery touch? Check. A heart crushed beyond repair? Check.
