Freddie McAllister is used to having sleepless nights. Managing New York City’s crime-ridden streets will do that to a top homicide detective. It also means his mind is almost always on a case. Or a drink. But he’s done with that life now, ready for a permanent vacation after a family tragedy. And with tragedy comes an inheritance, leaving him ready to move to Malibu, California. He settles into a beachside villa for some peace and quiet. But crime may be his neighbor when he suspects the woman next door of being involved in a recent missing persons case. As case details pile on, Freddie wonders, is it the alcohol or the sun making him paranoid, or is a murder investigation heading too close to home?
