The Parrot and the Pig

What are midlife crises like for members of a heavy metal band? If you’re Pretty Boy, it means an opioid addiction and theological discussions with a macaw. For Rex, it means having a pig destroy your house and aiding a robber in stealing all of your own furniture. The concert of their careers is on the horizon, but it is uncertain if they’ll ever make it there. The Parrot and the Pig explores the lives of four boys who live in a world of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll, and who are crossing the threshold into middle age when the sex entails group colonoscopies, the drugs are all prescription medication, and the rock shows are met with threats of violence. As they encounter frequent hallucinations, livid parents, and terrorist allegations, only one thing is certain: The real show is happening before they reach the stage.
