Into the Mystic

When Rynn McKay’s mother shows up on her doorstep holding an old cardboard box, Rynn knows exactly what it is: the inheritance she’s intentionally forgotten about since her grandmother passed away when she was a little girl. She considers happily avoiding it for another twenty years, but deciding it’s time to face it proves to be not only a long-awaited comfort, but also an adventure. Within the box are simple items, vaguely familiar from when the nine-year old Rynn first attempted to appreciate them so long ago. But when she discovers a link between a music box that never worked, and a journal documenting the travels of a mysterious writer, she finds herself swept up in unexpected excitement, possibly romance, and certainly danger. Adventure soon becomes a quest, with travels far and wide, then and now, as Rynn continuously sends herself Into the Mystic in order to find answers to the secrets of a man she knows only through the words of his journal.
