Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. John 17:17 (NKJV) The Bible presents God’s greatest blessings as spiritual, yet many Christians have been deceived into believing the best blessings are physical. When was the last time you heard a Christian praising God for the spiritual fruits of self-control and longsuffering? Daily we face challenges in our quest to live spiritual lives in a carnal world. We are constantly subjected to commercial media that presents us with everything from subtle influences to outright deceptive messages. These messages are designed to train us to become preoccupied with pleasing our flesh. This preoccupation creates a huge challenge to our stewardship of God’s blessings. To be a good steward of God’s financial blessings demands that we learn and apply God’s spiritual principles and the principles of financial literacy. Jesus has gone to prepare a spiritual home for us (John 14:3). Do not love the things of this world and be conformed to it (Rom 12:1-2). The things that unbelievers live for are temporary and they will all be gone in the twinkling of an eye. Live for Christ. Stop trying to fit in. Live like you truly believe that this world is not your home. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 3:20 (NKJV)
