Dale sat in the Sonoran Desert cross-legged amidst the organ pipe cacti which loomed above him. He looked upward at the Arizona afternoon sky as he scanned for any signs of his transport. The last five years had been just as he was told. He had been successful in following the drug trail to North Carolina and he had the scares to prove it; physically and mentally. His mission had taken him and his partner, Rex Moore, deep undercover in one of the most active drug cartels in the world. Both the young men had been chosen because of their natural dark skin and their learned Hispanic language. It gave them an advantage after they disembarked a few miles west of the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation in a remote desert area of Arizona. Dale and Rex had hiked the five miles from the disembark area to Ajo to find the La Siesta Motel and RV Resort. Dale carried a RV key, an Arizona driver’s license and his passport and Rex carried an electronic car key, an Arizona driver’s license as well, and his passport. Both passports revealed they had previously been in the United States, Mexico, Columbia, Canada, and several other countries in South America; all untrue. It was their first mission and their first arrival on Earth.Dale was sitting on the same spot; the same GPS coordinates as he had done five years before. His hair was still bushy and his black beard out of control. However, Rex was not there. At first the two young men were flippant concerning the danger and seriousness of their assignment. They were both twenty-three, muscle bound, trained to fight, and to survive most any situation. Dale now could look back and see their greenhorn mistakes; the mistakes which cost Rex his life.
