Nick, an artist, is sent by Unity to go to the centre of the Universe to find God and paint his portrait. This global conglomerate, made up of an international fast food company, a global media giant and the Earth’s most powerful religious organisation, decided it would be most beneficial for their joint future profitability if they could prove that God exists, especially if God was prepared to endorse their Company.

Unfortunately, Nick suffered a psychological anomaly from the effects of several cosmic events. His personality fractured into a number of separate elements, each wanting dominion over him.

Fortunately, Mary, an artificial intelligence embodied in Nick’s spacecraft, came to his rescue. It was only at the end of an agonising journey, with Mary’s help, that Nick was able to regain dominion over himself thereby being able to carry out the commissioned work. At the unveiling Unity’s CEO discovered to his absolute frustration that the painting was actually a portrait of someone already known to him.
