Travelling below the Surface is the second book of a two-book series. The first book, The Itinerant Way,

was published in October 2019.

It all began in January 1988 when Charlie Ash decided to adopt an itinerant lifestyle (The Itinerant Way) via fruit-picking throughout the three eastern

states of Australia. Over the next twenty years, he would persevere with this largely unconventional lifestyle: one that would also take him beyond the

Australian shores (Travelling below the Surface) from time to time. The overseas wanderlust adventure began in May 1990.

In the early 1990s, P. J. Kropp began to jot down handwritten notes as he travelled within the eastern states of Australia and abroad. Originally, he had intended to tackle both literary projects as autobiographical accounts. However, P.J. Kropp decided that a different approach would be a better

option - a fictional-based one.

Although, the content of this book is largely fictional, everything is based on actual events and real people.
