Chook, Chick and Cackles are the best of friends.
They keep escaping out through the fence.
There’s lots of mischief and trouble ahead,

For poor Rover, the dog and Farmer Fred.
Chook is the boss and she likes things done right,

Like having good manners and being polite.
Chick didn’t listen so she got things mixed up,

Like when she should ‘look out’ and when she should ‘duck’.
Cackles was clumsy and silly and brave
And sometimes she chose not to behave.
The three hens were pals and loved to explore
