I discovered so much of what we think the Bible says is really all about our view of God, and how we know and understand Him. If we understand how we understand God, could this help us understand the Bible?The Gospel became an excellent vehicle for exploring this issue. The word Gospel means Good News, yet quite often we can hear a Christian message portraying bad news more than good. It might be good news for some of us, but if we think about who we think is saved, and who is not saved, it does seem the majority of people will miss out. For them the outcome and therefore news, is bad.Many a Christian has suffered angst over the loss of a loved one they knew had never given their life to Jesus. The loved one had resisted all efforts to be convinced they needed to.How much does salvation depend on our ability to convince others to believe in Jesus?What if someone died without ever learning about Jesus? Is there still somehow good news for them?Is then the Gospel really only good news for a small minority of those who have ever lived?On face value it would seem the road to Hell is not only wide, it is also well travelled, and no one has a return ticket. But is this really a correct understanding of Hell, and the role it plays in the big picture of God relating to his creation - mankind - made in his own image?There are a number of different views on salvation in mainstream Christianity. Each of them do often raise valid questions. This book seeks to explore these questions. It will unpack a number of salvation ideas and examine if there is evidence in the Bible to find there is more good news for those considered unsaved than we ever thought possible. The examination of these questions requires no dogmatism from the author. The conclusions one draws from unpacking them will lead to different outcomes for any reader. The chief aim of the author then is to encourage critical thought to help every reader better understand themselves and the true nature of both Gods love for them and the truly Good News that is the Gospel!
