Wolfe's Tales is an anthology of short stories written by the 2023 Bachelor of Creative Arts: Creative Writing undergraduates. This anthology was made possible thanks to the support of Flinders University, as well as Adelaide-based publishing house, Glimmer Press.
This anthology gave nine aspiring authors the chance to showcase their hard work and talent, marking their entrance into South Australia's creative landscape. What started as a standard workshop class for third-year university students turned into the opportunity of a lifetime.
Bound by the theme, antique shops, each author interprets this in their own unique way. Every shop contains different mysteries and memories, different lives and stories, but they all share a shop owner named 'Wolfe'. Each Wolfe holds a unique purpose and possesses their own personality, yet they signify the connectedness and unity of the anthology. In some stories, Wolfe is a villain who pushes the protagonist to their edge; in others Wolfe represents the hope and kindness found in forgotten objects. 'To all who read, we hope Wolfe represents tales of mystic and magic, the esoteric, the good, and the horrible. We now invite you to browse the shelves of our nine stores, and find what we have left waiting for you.'
