Detective Senior Sergeant Lucielle ( Lucky) Lambert looked down at the naked body lying in the bath. The eyes were closed, the dark hair was plastered to her head with strands flattened against her cheeks and forehead and blood had trickled down the right side of her face from the fatal gash on her head. The makeup was a bit blurry and streaked, but overall, the body was in pretty good shape. Yes, she thought, I can definitely ID this body, there’s no doubt, it’s mine.
The police are convinced it is an accidental death but she knows it was murder. But how can she find her killer when she can’t identify him, there’s no apparent motive and no evidence? Besides, being dead, she can’t be seen or heard so how can she gather evidence or interview suspects?
In desperation she decides to enlist the help of Evelyn, a reluctant psychic and a madcap character, who in the past suffered embarrassing indignity at the hands of the Police and is now no longer inclined to use her psychic ability to solve crimes. Lucky eventually convinces her to help and this sets them on a trail of murders that in some strange way seem connected to her own death.
