Ali escapes with his mother and finds his way to Australia on an old ship. Ali sets up in Coober Pedy buying opal from the night shifters who go out at night and steal the opal from miners as they sleep. The Opal Eggs Of Fire is incorporated into this book on the insistence of an Adelaide movie producer. He said there was a good movie potential for this book.
