The late Ainslie Meares, MD DPM was an eminent Australian psychiatrist who made major contributions to hypnosis. Meares transitioned to teaching Stillness Meditation as it was the most effective method. The author is Owen Bruhn, BSc Hons, Grad Diplomas in Occup Hygiene and Ergonomics, Accredited SMT Teacher, Member Meditation Australia, Primal Blueprint and Posture Alignment coach. Bruhn met Dr Meares in 1984 and attended his meditation classes over the course of that year. He trained much later, with Pauline McKinnon, who taught him to teach Meares' method, after an injury in 2011.
