Tooth-friendly treats is a creation of the Australian Dental Association, the peak national body for dentists. One of the Association’s key objectives is to encourage the improvement of the oral and general health of the public.
This recipe book contains 20 tooth-friendly sweet treat recipes recommended by dentists. Each recipe is a creation of an Australian dentist, many of whom have a passion for cooking and creating low-sugar recipes. As well as wonderful recipes, you will also find easy-to-read information on oral health and sugar including how to identify hidden sugars and reading the Nutrition Information Panel found on the labels of foods and drinks.
This recipe book was created as part of the Australian Dental Association’s annual oral health campaign called Dental Health Week. In 2020, the Dental Health Week campaign took a focus on hidden sugars and as such, the idea to create a tooth-friendly recipe book was born. The recipes are for sweet treats for you to enjoy with your family and friends. You will find that the included recipes are not only tooth-friendly, but many are also vegan, nut-free, lactose-free and gluten-free as well. The recommended serving size and sugar content per serve and per 100g is included for each recipe to help you in making tooth-friendly choices.
The profits from the sales of this book are donated to the Australian Dental Health Foundation, which helps disadvantaged Australians access much-need dental care.
