Paso Adelante: Student Text

Designed specifically for the high/accelerated beginner, this new text recognizes and meets the needs of students as both affective and cognitive learners. Paso adelante’s course of study allows students to utilize and build upon the knowledge and skills they bring with them from previous studies, while offering clear presentation of more difficult aspects of the language. The text’s strong integration of authentic content motivates students and encourages deeper understanding of and appreciation for cultures and cultural practices. Embracing a task-based, communicative approach that integrates the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning, each chapter of Paso adelante focuses on the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and provides specific language learning strategies. The grammar points presented are those that are anticipated to be the most useful in authentic, everyday communication. Enhancing the program are a variety of technology components (in-text video and audio, listening/pronunciation lab, Online Teaching and Learning Centers) as well as author-created ancillary support for both students and instructors.
