Bernice Hufnagle Herndon has written a very interesting book about her childhood experiences in her grandpa’s Shoe Repair Shop in Fairmount, Indiana. In her nostalgic look at life in the 1950s, she notes that her grandparents, who were both deaf, lived, worked and raised a family in a very productive way.
