Everyone is a perfect size for something. Pillow wanted to have a purpose. He wanted to be useful to someone but he seemed to be too small – just big enough for an ant’s head, and ants do not use pillows. So Pillow watched others and learned to wait and grow until the day came when he was big enough to serve a very important purpose. Profits from the sale of this book will be donated to Leko Arts Organization based in Kenya. Leko is a Luo word meaning ‘to dream.’ Founded by the East African performer Sali Oyugi, the organization aims to nurture the dreams and develop the talents of children by establishing arts centers in under resourced neighborhoods. Through professional instruction in visual, performing, and multi-media arts, Leko’s vision is to see vulnerable youth thrive and turn into responsible citizens.
