Horatio Gaph, hero of The Escape and to lo-pry everywhere, not only learns he is a pure descendent of those lost Children, but that he has been called to lead them home. He faces a choice that will affect the fates of two worlds: the one in which he lives, where he alone can raise his district out of poverty and into a better life by winning The Escape. The other, an unseen world where unknown millions are threatened by a growing shadow of evil. Their only hope is the return of the fabled Children of Hamelin.
