Ten-year-old Will McKenzie, living on a farm in Alberta, Canada, moves north to a Native reservation because a pulp mill bought out his parents’ farm. When he arrives in Coyote Lake, Will witnesses a close family friend dump his daughter in the ditch in the middle of the night. Through both Will and Minos’s eyes, two first person overlapping accounts create a narrative pieced together that recounts Will’s life.
