Stone the Monsters, or Dance: Speculative poetry with ambitions of menace

Speculative poetry collected from appearances in magazines such as The Iowa Review, The Western Humanities Review, The Alaska Quarterly Review, Sequoia, The Altadena Review and several others, published primarily in the period 1975 through 1995. Poems that explore transition and the fantastic; indifference and irrelevance; the end of days and the beginnings of new meanings; the relationships within families as they adapt to the impossible, as they replace the bones of one hope with the currency of another. Poem titles such as Absolution , The Interstellar Astronaut Radios a Dead Earth , One Mermaid, After the Tsunami , Captain Changeling . Some are monsters, some are not. Good and evil meet on a street corner and begin to recognize each other’s bad habits.
