Star: Just a Chicken, Just a Girl, is the sweet story of Andrea Johnson, a young girl diagnosed with autism, and her pet chickens as they grow together through their struggles and trials and they together find friendship, family, forgiveness and love, as Andrea is bullied, her brother won’t speak to his family, and Star, Andrea’s chicken, faces her own worries and fears as she tries to understand and help her owner. But what will happen to their friendship when the storms grow fiercer? This book is written for children ages 10-12 but may be enjoyed by all ages. Molly Cox, the author and illustrator, is a 16-year-old homeschooler who has been writing for many years.
