Despite all the history and lore surrounding the small town, Buffalo Crossing is really a boring place. Which is why Albert Taulbee and his teenage friends spend their time investigating local legends. Is the Wallwood Devil Real? What makes those creepy sounds at Crybaby Lane? What is behind the legend of the Dogman?Usually, the boy’s investigations only result in mild discomfort from biking in extreme weather or hiking through the wooded area around town, known as the Wallwood. But when one of their little adventures leads to real danger, Albert’s friends lose interest in their little investigation game. Albert, sensing that he’s getting close to some answers, continues alone. Things get scary when a couple of locals go missing and Albert’s search for local lore leads him to cross paths with a reporter investigating the disappearances. As the unlikely pair piece together the mysterious events, a perceived feud between a fiery preacher and the town pariah threaten the peace of the town.
