Public Education in the San Antonio Area

San Antonio is a large city known for its small-town feel. The twenty Independent School Districts (ISDs) in the San Antonio area share a closeness and collaborative spirit reflective of this close community. The nonprofit corporation, Bexar County School Boards Coalition was created by the ISDs Boards of Trustees to collaborate on, advocate for, and provide leadership for local public education . Written by the Coalition, the book describes San Antonio area’s public education history, successes, and key data points. It tells the individual story of each ISD in the San Antonio area. The book describes the actions the 20 ISDs took during the first 60-days of the COVID-19 outbreak in Texas. Finally, it provides the history and impact of the Go Public campaign. Now expanding statewide, Go Public promotes the great things happening in public ISDs schools.
