Out of the darkness, the trafficker’s thug levelled his shotgun. It roars. The target is missed. The chance to kill is lost-for the moment. The clatter of the boat’s rigging was the sound left behind.

Alex Black is an abstract artist who paints and lives outside the lines. When a desperate woman seeks his help after her husband disappears from their oceanfront home, he boldly jumps onto the case to put another set of his skills-investigation-to the test.

Operating outside of police protocol, he enlists the help of a savvy player and is quickly propelled from sunny beaches and Miami shadows into a perilous sea quest and the dangerous shores of Cuba.
