I Know I Can

I Know I Can is a children’s book geared towards younger readers; specifically young girls ages 2-8 years old. It features a female character named Ryland who through self-discovery and awareness gains confidence in different everyday scenarios. The book is read from the stance of a parent speaking to Ryland and empowering her to try new things. This book was inspired by my own 2 year old daughter. I saw how curious, brave and bold she became when learning and being motivated to believe in herself. It is extremely important that we continuously support and build the self-esteem of girls. No matter the color, ethnicity or nationality. My hope is that young girls and their families can enjoy this book and read it together with a sense of pride. It is a short read with common themes kids can relate to and it also includes a page of positive affirmations to practice and reinforce.
