The Basketball
Something that Samantha has always loved, and has never wanted to put down.
The Wheelchair
Something that Emma has always tried to walk away from.
Strength
Samantha Reens once thought that she had it. She once thought that it was something she simply couldn’t lose. She certainly never imagined that she-the tall, athletic, outgoing, and confident basketball captain could suddenly have less strength than Emma-the small, disabled and introverted wheelchair girl simply after one single fall. But that was before Samantha found out that she was broken, and that she needs to have a major orthopedic surgery that will break herself even more-and then give her the opportunity to gain back her strength.
Weak
That’s something that Emma Perkins has never let herself be, even though she lives with a great challenge that seeks to make her weaker each day. Emma has always pushed herself above and beyond the limits that her disability has forever challenged her with. She’s never slowed down to look at the distance that she’s overcome. But that was before the basketball captain asked her for advice on how to handle her own disability, because she is going to have the same surgery that Emma just recently had.
Friendship
It’s not something that either of them expected, nor something that Emma’s willing to accept so easily, but something that might happen regardless of everyone’s objections.
The Taylor Spatial Frame
The brace that each of the girls must wear in order to regain their strength, and what bonds them together.
