Thirty characters – children, teens, young adults, parents, and grandparents – drive the twenty-four interconnected short stories that make up TransAtlantic Ties. The poignant narrative, which spans four generations – from 1945 to 2018 – reaches from the Finger Lakes of New York to Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, and across the Atlantic to London, the Yorkshire Dales, and Madrid. Themes of family, friendship, love, and death affirm the importance of introspection and memory in the characters’ lives and reveal the ties that connect each of them to an American woman living in modern-day London.
