Joselyn was building her career recording commercials, producing nationally syndicated radio shows, working with music producers, and attending the Grammys when the 2008 economic downturn hit. After transitioning from Hollywood to homelessness for too long, she decides to move back to her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She unexpectedly gets a teaching position with at-risk students at a high school in a section of Albuquerque known as The war zone.
